Celebrating Italian Food&Wine world in LA: Future Food joins Savor Italy 2019

During the last 10 years Italian food&wine consumption has considerably increased all over the world. In terms of quality attention to tradition, know-how and authenticity certifications are just some of the values and factors that global consumers are looking for in food today, finding most of them in Italian taste. In terms of quantity Italian cuisine has become as popular as other European or Asian ones. Just looking at USA stats, 60% of every age-range consumer says they eat Italian cuisine at least once a month outdoors (thanks to traditional restaurants, that are gaining popularity in metropolitan areas) and indoors (thanks to Italian products availability in supermarkets and deli stores). Along with consumers also international food industries and enterpreneurs started to understand the true Italian food value, making it a term of reference for gastronomic quality.
Is there a better occasion to celebrate Italian food&wine world abroad than Savor Italy?
Savor Italy is an annual recurring event organized by Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West, Los Angeles in collaboration with Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas. It’s an entire roadshow dedicated to global food trade actors with an ambitious aim: linking food operators, retailers and producers to the Italian food&wine world through seminars and tasting moments that range from traditional products to innovation experiences. After the successful 2018 edition, Italian enogastronomic excellence comes back to the West Coast in The Peninsula Hotel location on February 28th.
What’s new in Savor Italy 2019? Our innovation corner! Future Food has already prepared fantastic experiences, talks and labs to get guests involved into the whole Italian food innovation world. Indeed we will be part of this roadshow through two different moments:

  • a presentation given by Chiara Cecchini (Future Food US Director) about Food Innovation Global Mission, the 60-days international discovery mission that every year involves Food Innovation Program students in researching disruptive hubs, startups and food shapers that are changing and giving value to the whole food system;
  • a showcase where 2 innovative food&wine startups and a Food Alchemist corner will entertain guests by food innovation solutions and special tasting moments.

All of this presented by IACCW and True Italian Taste in Seeds of Distruption corner, a feature that brings innovative food and beverage concepts as well as startups to Savor Italy™. Attend to enjoy experential tastings, an Alchemist Lab and a Food Talk on Disrutive Trends, powered by the Future Food Institute and its experts!
