Deciding when, where, and for whom you work used to be a far-fetched dream. But as we live in a more collaborative, connected, and digital world, more and more want the freedom and flexibility to create their ideal work situation. Top-talent is looking for a new type of work experience and is not satisfied with the status quo. As a result, the employer-employee relationship is shifting.
A shift in power
“Talented people need organizations less than organizations need talented people.” -Dan Pink
While the promise of job security previously placed control in the hands of companies, the power dynamic has flipped. In order to attract and retain top talent, organizations are forced to rethink what they can offer potential talent besides a job and a paycheck. They are taking a critical look at its processes, offerings and culture.
This desire to revolutionize work in order to stay relevant amidst a changing economy and a workforce with radically different needs, conversations have emerged around the globe. The future of work is discussed at length by economists, organizational psychologists, human resource professionals and C-suite management, but what about
you, the actual talent?
The ForeWork Initiative
In order to add next generation’s voice to the conversation, jovoto founded the ForeWork Initiative in partnership with adidas, Cisco and Vitra. ForeWork was created with the intention of connecting the desires and concerns of creatives, innovators, entrepreneurs and young professionals with organizational changemakers. ForeWork is a platform supporting young talent as they shape their own future.
To spotlight how you want to work, ForeWork has teamed-up with WIRED. Inspired by WIRED’s commitment to “the people and ideas changing our world,” ForeWork is excited to offer up-and-coming talent the space to “think big” and have their voices heard by organizational management, thought leaders and changemakers from around the world.
How YOU want to work
Whether you’re thinking of a new progressive policy, an idea for a bold company commitment, a mutually-beneficial organizational hack, or some other radical new way of working — push the limits of what is already out there.
Communicate your groundbreaking idea in newsworthy fashion. As WIRED magazine has several components, ForeWork encourages you to submit your vision in the way that works best for you. Whether that’s a written article, an illustration, a concept map, design, etc., this is about you so leverage the medium of your choice.
Join the conversation
To become a part of the conversation, join the jovoto community and submit your vision for the future of work. When you share your concepts and content, you will have your submissions reviewed by international thought leaders, WIRED editors, and potentially published in the ForeWork report. As a thank you, you could earn one of the awards from the €20.000 total award pool or other cool prizes like a 2-week coliving experience.
Additionally, ForeWork will host its partners in Berlin for a two-day co-creation Workshop. You could be chosen to present your idea and collaborate with leadership from organizations like adidas, Cisco and Vitra.
