Smart Kitchen Summit (SKS) is the leading event dedicated to exploring the intersection of tech, food, design and how smart kitchen innovators are reshaping the emblematic space where food is kept, prepared, and cooked. The summer 2018 edition of the SKM takes place on August 8-9 at Base Q in Tokyo and Future Food Institute joins the event.
On August 9, You Can Group and Future Food Institute founder Sara Roversi gives a keynote speech on the whole Future Food Ecosystem. She is the only Italian person invited as a speaker at the event. Her speech in the Accelerator Program for Pioneers’ Session explores the leading role of education in the process of food innovation.
Her presentation goes deeper in the Food Innovation Program, a 12-month full time Master’s Program structured into creative learning and design driven innovation to connect the participants (both Italian and international students) with the newest trends in the food sector and get them into the fields through laboratory training and prototyping in the Officucina, a unique kitchen maker-space specifically designed for the Food Innovation Program.
The SKS is also the perfect occasion for Sara Roversi to share some recent development about the Future Food for Climate Change project. This project is focused on how technology can help the food chain to cause less harm to the climate and find new solutions for a sustainable future. Next September the Food for Climate Change will fly to the United States to promote some advanced tech solutions for an healthier relationship between man and food as to say the growing plant-based proteins sector. Smart Kitchen Summit was created in 2015 by Michael Wolf to bring together operators connected to the food world for a conversation about the future by involving experts in Food-Tech, kitchen makers, entrepreneurs, investors and other subjects that deal with food and innovation in a transversal way. In just a few years, the SKS has become one of the main events to discover how the kitchens of the future will be and what they’ll do for us. Through digital technologies and innovation. The japanese summer edition schedule has three major tracks as main topics of the event: the big wave of smart kitchen trend, the science in cooking focus and the personalised nutrition discussion.
