Innovacoop, Future Food Institute and BI-REX together for HACK4FOOD To Feed the Future
Innovacoop, together with the partners Future Food Institute and BI-REX | Big Data Innovation & Research Excellence, were selected to develop the HACK4FOOD | To Feed the Future project.
The initiative counts, as the only one funded in Italy after a European call, on the support of the SmartAgriHubs network, composed of 164 Digital Innovation Hubs and Competence Centers with the aim of accelerating the digitization of agricultural systems in Europe. The project consists in the organization of a hackathon which will take place online on October 9-10 2020.
The Hack4Food initiative has the goal of stimulating the development of innovative solutions, based on the application of digital technologies to tackle the most crucial issues that have emerged in the global pandemic in the Emilia-Romagna agrifood sector.
THE CHALLENGES
The hackathon will promote the contamination of ideas to respond to three challenges faced today by the sector with concrete solutions and high-potential innovation projects. The challenges in question will be: – Efficiency, transparency, traceability of food supply chains for safe and quality foods – Prevention of waste in the agri-food chain – Management of food surpluses for the benefit of the most fragile sections of the population.
HOW TO SUBSCRIBE

WHY PARTICIPATE
The winning project will be granted an economic contribution of 5,000 euros for its own development. Matchmaking activities will be provided to encourage the subsequent adoption of innovative solutions.
