In 1983, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure\u00ae consisted of 800 people running a 5K course in Dallas to raise awareness for breast cancer. Today, it is the world\u2019s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created. Organized to raise funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrate breast cancer survivorship, and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease, the growing global initiative consists of more than 140 races and over 1.6 million participants across four continents.<\/p>\n

For the past ten years, Bologna has been lucky to be one of those 140 spots worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, September 25th, the city was filled with excitement, encouragement and energy. Thanks to You Can Group<\/a>, we at Feat were able to discover the Race and help organize a team to engage the Feat community. Being able to get out and be active for such a great cause was an opportunity we didn\u2019t want to miss. The FeatApp: you can!<\/strong> team brought Feat and You Can Group (veteran participants of the Race) together for an inspirational run\/walk to make individual and community impact. As an individual it was great to be part of a larger group and for Feat it was awesome to combine efforts with You Can Group, a like-minded organization hoping to make impact across the field.<\/p>\n

Fighting against breast cancer is a cooperative effort.<\/em><\/strong> The more we can do together, the more we can achieve. It was awesome to see Feat participate in part of a larger initiative, because Feat itself also works at an individual and community level. When users engage with FeatApp, our hope that users are making change not just for themselves, but also the communities around them by supporting healthy habits.<\/blockquote>\n

At the Bologna Race for the Cure, we involved 39 Featers who signed up to be part of the team. Each participant donated \u20ac12 each and Feat met each donation with an additional amount. That means that thanks to our little community we have been able to make a small change and contribute to this important cause. It\u2019s inspiring to see how the Race has grown over the years and an honor to see what can be done when we work together. Feat will continue to be a part of the Race for the Cure community and engage in similar events.There is no better way to spend a day off than having a healthy, social and active Sunday morning walk or run with friends, old and new, and we\u2019re thankful that Race for the Cure encourages these activities. At Feat, we are proud to support the Race for the Cure as individuals and as part of the Feat community.<\/p>\n
