\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n

Il cibo \u00e8 l'unico elemento che ci accomuna tutti, nonostante le diverse culture, religioni, abitudini, origini geografiche. Mangiare \u00e8 essenziale per la sopravvivenza umana e attraverso di esso le persone possono prendersi cura della propria salute, consapevolmente o meno. Il cibo \u00e8 quindi una potente medicina e gli effetti delle scelte alimentari non vanno sottovalutati. Tuttavia, avere accesso a cibo sicuro sta diventando un privilegio, non solo per i Paesi in via di sviluppo.<\/p>\n

L'urbanizzazione sta spostando le nostre diete verso cibi pi\u00f9 elaborati e pronti, aumentando i rischi di carenza di nutrienti. L'obesit\u00e0 e il sovrappeso sono fenomeni che non lasciano esclusa nessuna regione. L'eredit\u00e0 delle pratiche agricole e zootecniche intensive \u00e8 evidente nell'uso massiccio di pesticidi, fertilizzanti, ormoni e vaccini che finiscono nei nostri piatti, proprio come il mercurio e la plastica.<\/p>\n

Poich\u00e9 l'80% dell'inquinamento marino deriva da attivit\u00e0 terrestri, anche il pesce e gli altri alimenti marini non sono esenti. Quando si parla di sicurezza alimentare, ogni attore della filiera ha un ruolo da svolgere, dalle aziende agricole ai consumatori, passando per la trasformazione, il trasporto e la distribuzione degli alimenti. La tracciabilit\u00e0 e la trasparenza degli alimenti sono quindi fondamentali per ridurre i rischi di malattie di origine alimentare, raggiungere la sicurezza alimentare, migliorare la nutrizione e promuovere un'agricoltura sostenibile.<\/p>\n

Questo \u00e8 il punto di partenza di una nuova serie di eventi di Food is a Conversation che Future Food Institute<\/a>\u00a0sar\u00e0 lanciato il 7 giugno per celebrare la Giornata mondiale della sicurezza alimentare, promossa ogni anno da\u00a0Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)<\/a>\u00a0e\u00a0World Health Organization (WHO)<\/a>\u00a0per ispirare azioni concrete e tangibili per aiutare a prevenire, individuare e gestire i rischi di origine alimentare.<\/p>\n
