Ma considerare la natura come una mera merce da sfruttare ha un prezzo.<\/p>\n<p>L'eccessivo sfruttamento dei suoli ci ha portato a terreni improduttivi. Il consumo eccessivo di acqua dolce ha aggravato lo stress idrico e la scarsit\u00e0. La forte dipendenza dai combustibili fossili ha aumentato il riscaldamento globale che, insieme agli eventi climatici estremi, compromette la nostra capacit\u00e0 di produrre quantit\u00e0 adeguate di cibo nutriente per una popolazione in aumento. La deforestazione su larga scala e l'invasione degli ecosistemi naturali hanno accelerato il tasso di diffusione dei virus, dalla biodiversit\u00e0 all'uomo. La natura \u00e8 alla base dello sviluppo umano e se vogliamo davvero prosperare dobbiamo riportare la natura nelle nostre conversazioni, decisioni, politiche e modelli di sviluppo.
