The diverse pool of competences in the team (like engineering, food tech, economics, design, entrepreneurship, political science, health etc.) is going to be one of the key ingredients. This multifaceted team will be capable of interpreting signals and trends to understand future challenges and opportunities in the industry and apply them to the specific needs of the different actors.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>New York\/USA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>SMART CITIES EDITION &#8211; July 10th &#8211; 17th, 2019<\/strong> Most of the world&#8217;s population is now concentrated within cities limits.\u00a0This has made cities the principal centre for the production and consumption of our society. As we become more heavily concentrated in\u00a0these areas so does our carbon footprint. If this wasn&#8217;t enough, we have\u00a0been inclined to locate these cities in some of the most climate\u00a0vulnerable areas on the planet. Consequently, if we have any hope of battling climate change and moving towards a more climate resilient\u00a0future, cities will need to be at the core of our plan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Tokyo\/Japan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>SMART FARMS EDITION &#8211; August 1st &#8211; 7th, 2019<\/strong> We research and apply climate-smart agriculture (CSA) with the intent of\u00a0transforming and re-focusing agricultural systems. This is an essential\u00a0ingredient in the support of both societal development and food security\u00a0in a world actively fighting climate change. CSA has three major\u00a0objectives: 1) To sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes 2) To adapt and build resilience to climate change 3) To reducing and\/or removing greenhouse gas emissions where\u00a0possible Participants have the chance to explore rural based smart and\u00a0regenerative farms that are working to develop strategies to better\u00a0connect rural and urban communities. This will allow for the blending of\u00a0both innovative technologies and millenary traditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Bluebank\/Iceland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>SMART OCEANS EDITION &gt; September 1st &#8211; 7th, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The ocean&#8217;s importance in the global climate cannot be overstated! Our often overlooked oceans are by far the largest carbon sink in the\u00a0world. According to World Watch, algae, coral and ocean vegetation stores around 93% of carbon dioxide. It also absorbs an overwhelming\u00a0portion of our planets excess heat. As greenhouse gases and\u00a0atmospheric heat increase, growing pressure is placed on our oceans to\u00a0pick up the slack.<\/p>\n<p>Want to know more?
