La sfida: gestire le foreste in modo sostenibile per tutti<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ad oggi, le foreste sono una delle vittime pi\u00f9 colpite dai nostri attuali modelli di produzione e consumo. Lo sfruttamento delle risorse naturali senza rispettarne i cicli riproduttivi non pu\u00f2 che portare alla progressiva perdita di questi beni e alla riduzione della salute delle aree circostanti.<\/p>\n

La deforestazione e il degrado forestale stanno avanzando a pieno ritmo: FAO<\/a> ha riportato come negli ultimi 25 anni si sia verificata una perdita di 5,2 milioni di ettari ogni 12 mesi. La fascia tropicale \u00e8 la regione pi\u00f9 colpita dalle pratiche di deforestazione, ma anche le foreste boreali come quelle situate tra il Canada e la Siberia sono costantemente minacciate dalle piogge acide, dal disboscamento, dagli incendi e dagli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici.<\/p>\n

Anche gli eventi legati al clima, come incendi e inondazioni, colpiscono pesantemente le foreste. In conseguenza di Gli incendi australiani del 2019<\/a> da solo,\u00a07,7 milioni di ettari sono stati bruciati, con oltre un miliardo di animali uccisi ulteriormente spingendo le specie gi\u00e0 minacciate pi\u00f9 vicine all'estinzione.<\/p>\n

La gestione sostenibile delle foreste \u00e8 fondamentale per garantire i cicli naturali, preservare la biodiversit\u00e0, massimizzare la sicurezza idrica e persino garantire un'adeguata nutrizione umana, poich\u00e9 le foreste e la biodiversit\u00e0 selvaggia forniscono frutta, verdura, carne di arbusti e alimenti ricchi di nutrienti.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Perch\u00e9 \u00e8 importante: l'agroforestazione per aumentare la produttivit\u00e0 agricola<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Sappiamo tutti che le foreste sono alleate cruciali per la sopravvivenza umana e il benessere sulla Terra. Sono una fonte primaria di produzione di ossigeno, contribuendo fino al 50% della produzione globale, assorbendo anche anidride carbonica, mitigando i cambiamenti climatici, proteggendo le risorse idriche grazie ai bacini idrografici forestali, contribuendo alla conservazione della biodiversit\u00e0 mondiale (oltre l'80% di tutte le specie sono ospitati nelle foreste) e il controllo dell'erosione del suolo.<\/p>\n

L'arresto della deforestazione potrebbe infatti salvare sia l'uomo che il pianeta dall'emissione di 3,6 gigatonnellate di anidride carbonica equivalente proteggendo pi\u00f9 della met\u00e0 della biodiversit\u00e0 terrestre globale, afferma il ultimo rapporto FAO sulle foreste.<\/a><\/p>\n

Le foreste forniscono indirettamente vari beni materiali e immateriali, come legname, cibo, acqua e medicine, provvedendo alla sussistenza di circa 1,6 miliardi di persone<\/a>, e promuovono valori estetici, culturali e ricreativi, favorendo l'aggregazione sociale e le attivit\u00e0 all'aria aperta.<\/p>\n

Ripristinare 1,5 miliardi di ettari di terreno degradato e favorire l'agroforestazione potrebbe aumentare la produttivit\u00e0 agricola su 1 miliardo di ettari<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ci sono anche benefici monetari legati ai servizi di regolazione ecosistemica che derivano dalle attivit\u00e0 forestali: solo in Italia, ad esempio, ammontano a 338 miliardi di euro come riportato dal Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale<\/a> (ISPRA).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Strategia forestale dell'UE per la pianificazione e il monitoraggio a lungo termine<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Le foreste sono chiaramente protagoniste nella realizzazione del Green Deal Europeo<\/a>, di recente entrata in vigore con l'adozione del Nuova strategia forestale dell'UE per il 2030<\/a>.<\/p>\n

La strategia forestale dell'UE stabilisce una visione e azioni concrete per aumentare la quantit\u00e0 e la qualit\u00e0 delle foreste nell'UE come parte fondamentale della soluzione al cambiamento climatico e per combattere l'attuale perdita di biodiversit\u00e0. Data questa stretta interconnessione, \u00e8 chiaro che il Strategia dell'UE sulla biodiversit\u00e0 per il 2030<\/a>, adottato per mettere la biodiversit\u00e0 europea sulla strada della ripresa entro il 2030, si impegna a piantare almeno 3 miliardi di alberi in pi\u00f9 entro il 2030 nel pieno rispetto dei principi ecologici con una pianificazione e un monitoraggio a lungo termine.<\/p>\n

Gli impegni e le azioni proposte nella Strategia contribuiranno al raggiungimento dell'obiettivo dell'UE di riduzione delle emissioni di gas serra di almeno il 55% entro il 2030, come stabilito nella Legge europea sul clima che sar\u00e0 attuata dalle misure previste dalla recente EC Fit per il 55% del pacchetto.<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Con la nuova Strategia forestale dell'UE, che posiziona l'UE nell'attuazione degli obiettivi internazionali inclusi nell'Agenda 2030 (e in particolare lo Sviluppo Sostenibile Goal 15),<\/a> la Commissione presenta una visione ambiziosa, basata sul forte impegno, motivazione e dedizione di tutte le foreste, i proprietari terrieri e i gestori.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Collaborazioni agroforestali per l'impatto sociale<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sebbene le foreste svolgano un ruolo vitale nella produzione sostenibile di cibo, il loro stato \u00e8 fortemente influenzato e influenzato dalle pratiche agricole convenzionali, che sono le principali cause della deforestazione e del degrado forestale.<\/p>\n

\u00c8 all'interno di questa sfida e per accelerare il percorso verso la rigenerazione ecologica integrale \u2013 dove le foreste hanno un ruolo cruciale, che il Future Food Institute pone parte della sua missione. Ci\u00f2 significa promuovere e promuovere buone pratiche per riconnettere l'attivit\u00e0 umana con le esigenze di rigenerazione e cura delle foreste, sostenere strategie agroforestali partecipative, politiche coerenti per l'agricoltura sostenibile e la gestione forestale, ripristinare le foreste e le aree protette, trasformare i sistemi alimentari e implementare sistemi agroforestali e agroforestali innovativi -tecniche ecologiche e processo decisionale inclusivo.<\/p>\n

Sono tutte attivit\u00e0 che dalla fine del 2019 ci hanno portato ad entrare a far parte del Moody\u2019s Foundation<\/a> portafoglio di partner, diventando la prima azienda italiana ad ottenere una borsa di studio nel settore dei progetti di carbonio. Grazie a questa collaborazione sosteniamo il progetto agroforestry carbon\u201dFazenda S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a>\u201d in Brasile, generando impatti ambientali e sociali positivi.<\/p>\n

Anche l'agricoltura e il pascolo sostenibili, le strategie agroforestali, la conservazione dell'ambiente naturale sono pilastri fondamentali della Future Food Academy<\/a> che, attraverso i nostri Boot Camp, corsi di formazione e la preziosa collaborazione con la FAO elearning Academy, offre ai Climate Shaper di tutto il mondo la possibilit\u00e0 di approfondire le pratiche agricole rigenerative, la gestione sostenibile delle foreste e altri aspetti chiave per abbracciare un approccio pi\u00f9 rigenerativo stile di vita.<\/p>\n

Pi\u00f9 recentemente, questa missione \u00e8 perfettamente radicata nel nostro Living Lab in Pollica<\/a> dove la decarbonizzazione dell'agricoltura attraverso l'agroecologia e la rigenerazione dell'ecosistema si ottiene grazie all'esperienza, alla conoscenza e al coraggio di eroi alimentari locali e internazionali.<\/p>\n

Da Pollica, stiamo per ospitare anche la EU AgriFood Week, dove la conservazione delle foreste sar\u00e0 tra i temi affrontati nei panel multidimensionali. Sar\u00e0 un'opportunit\u00e0 per discutere ulteriormente di queste questioni con profili istituzionali di alto livello, per progettare nuove strategie e politiche che possano allinearsi per migliorare la salute dei nostri amati e tanto necessari boschi.<\/p>\n
