The loss of glaciers is not just an environmental issue; it is a wake-up call that calls us to action <\/b>for the most marginal areas, the most valuable, the most vulnerable, the ones that are often forgotten or neglected but which are essential for the protection of biodiversity and necessary resources, for our heritage, and ultimately for our survival. Abandonment of these areas- already underway- is not an option if we wish to ensure a sustainable future for our planet.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The interconnectedness of water, snow, and our environment is undeniable. It’s imperative that we take collective action to mitigate the impacts of climate change and protect these vital resources so that our favorite outdoor playgrounds continue to be covered in snow.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t

Water and snow are the lifeblood of our planet. <\/b>But just how much water exists on, in, and above our planet? USGS, a governmental research centre, says that roughly 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, with the oceans holding about 96.5 percent of all Earth’s water. Water also exists in the air as water vapour, in rivers and lakes, in icecaps and glaciers, in the ground as soil moisture and in aquifers, and even in you and your dog.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas the<\/span> white gold -snow, replenishes our freshwater reservoirs<\/b>. As it melts, it feeds into rivers and aquifers, sustaining ecosystems and supplying water for countless uses downstream. Melting glaciers are not just a visual spectacle; they’re a stark indicator of the Earth’s changing climate. The water released from these glaciers contributes significantly to rising sea levels, posing a threat to coastal communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

But here’s the silver lining\u2014we want to be part of the solution and advocate for sustainable practices, support initiatives combating climate change, and make informed choices that reduce our carbon footprint.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
